I've successfully installed mscorefonts package and am able to use Arial, for example, in LibreOffice. I have downloaded the segoe*.tff file and copied it to /usr/share/fonts successfully.

I have also ran sudo fc-cache -f -v. However, the font does not work in LibreOffice. I am able to select it from the dropdown menu, but it appears to be an empty font, leaving me with just blank space, although the actual text does not get deleted, as I can change the font back again. I have also rebooted the computer.

Please help! Thanks in advance.

  • Where, in /usr/share/fonts did you copy the fonts? What is the protection on the .ttf files? – waltinator Aug 26 '18 at 22:47
  • It's in a new folder there. /usr/share/fonts/segoe. I don't know what protection is. – Jenna Lynn Head Aug 27 '18 at 7:56
