I have tried the latest drivers nvidia-396 and nvidia-384 but both cause problems in my GeForce 940m graphic card. When I play dota2, the screen freezes after a few minutes while audio is sometimes still on, other times I couldn't verify. Pressing the power button is the only option that remains. I tried sudo apt remove , sudo apt-get purge nvidia-*, etc. and then re-installed by sudo add-apt-repository ppa:graphics-drivers/ppa, sudo apt-get update followed by sudo apt-get install nvidia-367 but after reboot I see that nvidia-384 has been installed. How do I install nvidia-367 specifically nvidia 367.44 driver in my ubuntu 16.04? Or is there anything else going on? I believe my firmware is not updated as well but that doesn't seem to be causing the freezes.
