I have 5 NVidia graphics cards installed on my motherboard, 3 1070TIs and 2 1080TIs. I am currently running Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS, and I have installed the NVidia drivers through

sudo ubuntu-drivers autoinstall

and the drivers work for four of the five cards. However, one of the 1080TIs shows "*-display UNCLAIMED" in the

sudo lshw -c display

output, and does not show "driver=nvidia" beside the configuration, like the other four cards. What do I need to do to get this one card to use the NVidia driver like the other four?

Full "sudo lshw -c display" output: https://pastebin.com/NJePBGBg

  • Ubuntu is notoriously bad with NVIDIA and AMD graphics concerning multiple displays and graphics cards. It's possible there is no fix. What's the actual output of lshw though? – TheWanderer Aug 2 '18 at 3:58
