I dual-boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. The sound on Windows works perfectly. On Ubuntu I thought i had no sound, but after turning everything up, I am able to hear some sound when i put my head right next to the speaker.

In the sound settings, I have selected the right device, all the mixers are up at 100. With the alsa-mixer, I too turn all the sliders to max and unmuted everything. The sound is still almost unhearable. Connecting the speaker through my with HDMI connected monitor gives the same result.

I don't know what to do, any help would be appreciated.

It's a Family 17h (Models 00h-0fh) HD Audio Controller, integrated into my Biostar B350 ET2 Motherboard, if that renders any use.
