I took a time lapse series of sunset pictures from a cruise ship, and now I want to make a video of that. Thing is, the ship movement was more noticeable on the final pictures than I expected, so the output video is shaky. I'd like to recreate the video, but doing image stabilization only vertically.
I used ffmpeg, and my tests with vidstabdetect resulted in less sharp frames, presumably because it tried to compensate for X axis shakes, which don't exist in this case (or are negligible). Is it possible to do it with ffmpeg, restricting the detection to the Y axis?
ffmpeg is not a requirement, just a more handy tool for a very precise objective.
