i need to install netflix but terminal is telling me that it is unable to locate netflix-desktop package. i went through terminal and put the commands as requested, the first command "sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ehoover/compholio" went through without a hitch. the second command "sudo apt-get update" also went ok, however, when i put the third command "sudo apt-get install netflix-desktop" and placed enter, it told me "E: Unable to locate package netflix-desktop". what could be the problem?

  • Did you check to see 17.10 was supported; I don't see it (launchpad.net/~ehoover/+archive/ubuntu/compholio/+packages). Even the description says "This PPA currently publishes packages for Xenial, Wily, Vivid, Utopic, Trusty, Saucy, Raring, Quantal, Precise, Oneiric, Natty, Maverick, Lucid, and Karmic." ie. no mention of artful (17.10) – guiverc Jul 7 '18 at 7:54
  • Why do you need to install netflix? I use it directly from firefox without needing to install anything. I also would like to suggest to upgrade to 18.10 while you can. On the 19th 17.10 goes end of life. – Rinzwind Jul 7 '18 at 8:20
