So about a week ago I broke the LCD of my laptop and took the screen to until I could get a new LCD. I tried to make my laptop work on a TV and it did. I saw something on another forum page about turning on the laptop and closing to the lid while the HDMI was plugged in. The next day I did the same thing for about 2 hours and I decided to do something else so I shut it down and went and did something else. When I came back I tried to so the same thing but it didn’t work. I sat there for an hour trying to get it work. I’ve tried everything and if anyone knows something that could help, it would be much appreciated.

How all that is related to Ubuntu? – Pilot6 Jun 10 '18 at 10:22
  • When you were switching on your laptop before it's lcd broken, what was the screen exactly showing after booting? You have which version of Ubuntu in it? – PRATAP Jun 10 '18 at 10:52
