since two days I'm trying to bring Adobe Flashplayer to work. I tried it in all latest versions of Firefox, Chrome and Chromium, following tips from other users to install the corresponding player. It is always blocked: The screen appears blank, it sometimes flashes for a short moment, although I allow the side to run flashplayer.

Before I had Windows 7 installed + Flashplayer working, so it is no hardware pissue.

For example, when running Chromium from Terminal, this is what happens when I start it:

lukas@lukas-Latitude-E4310:~$ chromium-browser
Using PPAPI flash.
 --ppapi-flash-path=/usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/libpepflashplayer.so --ppapi-flash-version=

... and this, when I try to open a page with flash content:

[WARNING:flash/platform/pepper/pep_module.cpp(63)] SANDBOXED

Any hints were to start for a troubleshooting are appreciated!

  • If you visit this page, do you see which Flash version you have? – Gunnar Hjalmarsson May 24 '18 at 0:38
  • Yes, the newest version up to date: 29.0.0171 – Lukas May 24 '18 at 19:28
  • Ok, then Flash is properly installed. Can you post a URL to a publicly available site which requires Flash and which has stopped working for you? – Gunnar Hjalmarsson May 24 '18 at 19:34
  • Alright, after having now issues using Flash on whatsoever website, I finally found that itś not a flash problem but HBO is apparently not working with Linux at all anymore. I will try to find other solutions. Thanks a lot! – Lukas May 24 '18 at 21:09
