I am new to Ubuntu and have never written a question. I have just downloaded 18.04. I can connect to the internet with a cable but I am not able to do so wirelessly. Please, I have read several answers, but if I'm told to ping a number or enter a list of instructions I need to know where to enter them. I cannot use 'connect to hidden wireless network' because this does not appear in the menu at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When I ping it say Network is unreachable. My network controller is Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device d723.

I have

Network controller [0280]: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. Device [10ec:d723]
Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:8319]

This question has been asked before and already has an answer. If those answers do not fully address your question, please ask a new question.

  • Hello, Christina. Are you getting an error when trying to connect, or you just can't see your network listed? If you get an error, specify it, please. If you don't see your network, can you see others, or any at all? Please, update your question with the answers. That way, it will be easier to help you. – Esteban Knöbl May 9 '18 at 19:44
  • Please see askubuntu.com/questions/425155/… and paste results from the wireless-info.txt or in terminal do cat wireless-info.txt | nc termbin.com 9999 and post the URL – Jeremy31 May 9 '18 at 21:56
  • To clarify, is your question; 'how do you connect to a hidden wireless network with Ubuntu 18.04'? – Broadsworde May 10 '18 at 8:25
