I have a default gateway set under eth2.111.

If I do ifdown eth2; ifup eth2 eth2.111 comes back up, but my default gateway doesn't come back up! netstat -rn shows the interface up but the gateway is 0.0.0.0.

If I then do ifdown eth2.111; ifup eth2.111 then the default gateway is restored and shows correctly in netstat -rn.

What gives? This seems like broken behavior, and that I shouldn't need to touch the VLAN111 interface in order to get the default gateway back up (it should come back up when eth2 comes back up).

This is running Ubuntu 14.04.

Thank you for your help!
