This is not a duplicate of many many questions asked about enabling CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE.

I need a user defined key combination to restart the X server,

I find myself doing the default key sequence a lot and it's annoying, but I don't want to disable it because -- you know better.

I have tried xbindkeys and also the gnome keyboard shortcuts GUI to set my combination to restart X server using the commandline:

systemctl restart lightdm.service

Problem is, like this or with gksudo at beginning it prompts for password, it's not useful like this.

Adding sudo at the beginning on the other hand doesn't work at all.
