I'm trying to install caffe following this guide however when I do make all I get the error

edit: At first I didn't notice that cmake .. also threw an error but here it is: CMake Error at /usr/local/share/OpenCV/OpenCVConfig.cmake:108 (message): OpenCV static library was compiled with CUDA 9.0 support. Please, use the same version or rebuild OpenCV with CUDA 8.0 Call Stack (most recent call first): cmake/Dependencies.cmake:97 (find_package) CMakeLists.txt:46 (include)

which suggests an issue with opencv, I already tried rebuilding opencv but that didn't do anything, anybody know how to force opencv to use cuda 8?

This is only ubuntu 16.04. Anybody know how this fix this such that it will compile? Or any extra info I can add?
