How do I add a swap partition after system installation?

I did not opt forcreate a swap partition during Ubuntu installation. Later Later, I freed up some space, and made a swap partition. Now Now after bootingeach boot up, I am manually opening gparted andgparted to right-clickingclick the swap partition and turning itto turn on usingthe 'swapon' option.

How can I automatically enable the swap partition every timeat boot?

Also, if I had not created the swap partition, what are my other options?
