comment How to access SD-card within Aquaris E4.5 (Ubuntu edition)?
It isn't installed by default, you have to install it via the Ubuntu Store.

Even so as the BQ phone is the only Ubuntu phone and this comes top in the search results his answer is still very useful and appreciated. You'd have thought that they would have stuck the manual on the phone somewhere.

comment Ubuntu Phone BQ Aquaris E4.5 USB Problem
Have you tried unlocking as Maarten Klop suggested? If your phone is on the lock screen it won't mount the device or the SD card.

comment 1>How does one create a hotspot on Ubuntu Touch ? 2> use a VPN…?
Sorry, that does work but it is 'android-gadget-service enable rndis' to disable it is 'android-gadget-service enable mtp'. Still, you'd think that there would be a way to do this GUI.

That doesn't work, it just returns rndis unknown on the BQ Auaris. It's annoying because tethering is pretty basic and standard feature that you'd expect Ubuntu to support right from the off, at the very least from an Ubuntu desktop.

comment how to add sources in video lenses?
He isn't asking how to write a scope, but why a source is missing from the scope. The video scope used to include videos from BBC iPlayer, now it doesn't - his question is why and how can he add it. Indeed it seems like there is no control over the video scope at all any more. Is it abandoned like the social scope?

Tried installing nemo in replacement of nautilus, but that suffered the same problem with the same error message - Segmentation fault (core dumped).

comment Nautilus crashes on file/folder drag, Icon issues 14.04
Not so rare. I have the same problem, including missing check boxes, crashing on changing theme, PrintScreen problems - basically everything exactly as described. I have tried re-installing nautilus and also anything compiz related without luck. This seems to be a very specific problem, yet the only solutions offered are for general nautilus crashes. Only thing that I can add is that I get this error in the terminal: segfault at 0 ip (null) sp 00007fff43b721d8 error 14 in nautilus[400000+157000]

comment Excessive Power Consumption by ethernet socket
Thanks @mchid, I have an Ivybridge CPU and I had Thermald installed with pstate enabled when I had problems. I believe I have been having problems for longer than I realized, probably after installing the Intel Graphics installer and made worse by the recent Intel update. My CPU temp was rarely below 65C and my fans never off. Going back to default drivers and bumblebee along with Thermald and TLP has got me back to a silent laptop, <50C temp and less than 10W power usage. If you’re not already using it, I’d strongly recommend TLP as well.

Thanks, I installed Zenmap and Etherape and I have added a picture of the running services that Zenmap found. I do use a printer and Windows network, I couldn't really see anything else there. I also ran Etherape for a while, but again saw nothing odd (that I could tell).
