comment java plugin in Chromium
I wish one day people who don't have an answer could just remain silent instead of speculating whether someone does or doesn't need what they're asking for...

Did you add the same entry on both machines?

comment Ethernet Lights Not On When Cable Connected And Not Working
First thing to notice is that you don't have a physical link (ethtool's output). There's no point diagnosing anything above this layer before this works. Have you tried connecting this port to another machine's Ethernet port and seeing if you get a link?

comment Cannot access apache server from LAN
Just when I thought I've seen everything... myapp.localhost.com? Did you add an entry for this FQDN in the hosts file? How does this resolve (I somehow doubt you own the localhost.com domain).

And the other question: "The second OS is it connected to the same network cable or does it use wifi?" ?

comment How to open local apache website to the world?
Anyway, from the output of ip route, you don't have the public IP configured on the machine running the webserver, so you'll need to follow the last part of my answer - forwarding ports from your router to this machine. PS. your firewall's INPUT chain has an ACCEPT policy, meaning the rules I suggested weren't even necessary.

Could you please move the commands' results to your question and format them as code (select the text, press Ctrl+K). It will definitely be cleaner.

Please post the output of commands in my answer and I'll take a look.

comment Error when trying to mount an .iso file
That is quite odd, your command line is correct. If either the ISO or the mountpoint were missing, you'd definitely get a different error. I think such error should only be displayed if you typed sudo mount /media/fakecd. Could you show us your /etc/fstab?

comment Get results from PHP pages after login
Feel free to examine man pages of both wget and curl for the differences, now that you know how to do this with wget. Especially that this specific example is in the wget's man page.

Try the updated solution. It saves the cookies set after the authentication attempt, then reuses them in the subsequent request.

comment Newbie needs some guidance and direction to build a web server
If I were you I'd avoid using GUI for any configuration of a server. Start with installing Ubuntu server if you wish and use Google. This is the first thing you should take a look at help.ubuntu.com/14.04/serverguide/httpd.html. It's not that hard without a GUI if you know what you need. Here's the rest: help.ubuntu.com/14.04/serverguide/index.html

comment Chmod error changing permission read only file system
There's nothing in your question that shows us the location of '74A7-A44E'. Please update your question with the output of mount and where the directory you cannot change permissions of actually is.

'Data array on RAID0', and not having space to back it up. Do you understand the differences between RAID levels and risks involved?

comment Is it possible to use wget for copying files in my own system?
Using wget instead of rsync for this is comparable to using a hammer as a screwdriver, to be honest. That's the reason for my downvote.

comment Can tcpdump on Ubuntu 14.04 show packets in real time?
It doesn't look to be accepted and currently the -b flag of tcpdump means: Print the AS number in BGP packets in ASDOT notation rather than ASPLAIN notation. so I don't think this code is in.

comment Can tcpdump on Ubuntu 14.04 show packets in real time?
I've had a similar issue, although I could live with it. I usually just use tcpdump if it's an ad-hoc troubleshooting I'm doing but out of curiousity, I checked and Wireshark acts the same way. What's common? They're both compiled against libcap - I don't have the time now but maybe something has changed in libpcap between the current and previous version available in Ubuntu (tcpdump.org/libpcap-changes.txt)?

comment Resizing a selected area in a PDF
I wish there was an app which combined certain PDF support features of both Inkscape (ability to modify vector graphics) and Gimp (imported PDF actually looks like the original).
