On daily basis I deploy, maintain and support one of the largest CDNs in the world. I enjoy working on projects involving automation, monitoring, analysing and tweaking *nix system performance, troubleshooting networks, tinkering with virtualisation, etc.

No worries, could you join the chat channel chat.stackexchange.com/rooms/8599/jordan ? I feel this would be quickly solved there if you're available. I'll be checking it about every 10 minutes so stick around ;)

If you read my answer again, you'll find that I wrote "Other files under /etc/apache2 that you've made modifications to", which is quite different from just "other files under [...]". I have no way of knowing which files you've made modifications to so it's reasonable to expect you know which ones you need to copy over. And I'd replace "lashing out" with stating the fact - I've found that link with the first query I used. I would have been more understanding if it wasn't for your sarcastic 'cute'. Over and out.

comment Does using 2 OSs affect CPU speed?
Sorry for being unclear - it was a rhetorical question, since you wrote the only way for CPU speed to change was overclocking, which as a statement isn't correct.

Just the way it is worded. I don't have to guess. Don't like the wording - edit. Smells like being bored.

How about Intel speedstep and similar power saving technologies? I'm afraid your statement isn't correct as it is.

comment How can I clean my software caches from the command line?
Software cache is a rather non-specific term to be honest - I'm aware what that command does :) Just curious - why do you feel you need to manage this manually or with the help of some tweak package?

The PREROUTING rule I listed earlier handles incoming traffic from external hosts. Locally generated traffic does not pass the PREROUTING table and needs a rule in the OUTPUT table. I've updated my answer (just added one more rule) and that should handle both external incoming and locally generated traffic.

Just to prove the point about the lack of research: stackoverflow.com/questions/3982299/…

Well, I did assume your familiarity with basic management of the OS you're using. Also, your question doesn't show any prior research. You can indeed use mysqldump to create a dump of all your databases that would allow you restore it fully, including the privilege and account information, so what you're stating is incorrect. The process is actually described, the implementation of it isn't. It looks like you consider somebody writing the script for you (since you're after the "exactly how" instructions") as the answer which is cute but I think I'll have to pass on your offer. Good luck.
