comment Make directory named 0001 instead of 1 in a bash script loop
This is only useful for a previously known amount of directories to be created. Usually, when using numbered directories, you are within a dynamic context - which means it should determine the amount at runtime and thus still needs string padding. Depends on the specific use case, though.

comment Firefox “clone” for Ubuntu
I am honestly stunned by the need you feel for entirely different browsers, while wanting them to be exactly alike. Could you elaborate on a scenario in which this is needed? I believe there is absolutely no need to use different identical entities for that in most cases.

Welcome to Ask Ubuntu! Please try to clarify what you're looking for. What do you mean by "fix"? Also, what do you need this for?

comment Firefox unresponsive due to lock files, how do I remove them?
Two of those three commands have next to nothing to do with Firefox itself. "Going for a newer version" isn't a solution to the problem either. This message persists through the versions, and is fully intentional - even though it is sometimes thrown when not needed.

Patience, please. This question was asked only one hour ago, and thus hardly anyone has looked into it by now. Also: Don't add more and more comments to your question, as this only clutters the list - Edit your question and include only necessary information.

If it is gradually getting worse, it may well be hardware failure. Please give more detail on where, when and which keystrokes are lost.

First of all, a step-by-step protocol of what you did when installing ubuntu would be nice, as this seems like it is very unusual behavior.

The English isn't much of a problem. The description is, however. What do you mean by "isn't crystal clear"? What does the noise sound like? White noise, cracking, thumping?

You require a certain amount of reputation to comment on other posts. These restrictions - albeit sometimes obstructive - are in place for a reason.

comment My Windows 7 is getting the “An error occurred. Press control+alt+del” message on boot
@Maxrunner That would probably the best course of action, indeed. First Windows, then Ubuntu. Ubuntu should usually, when booted from a live CD , have no problems accessing the installed version for the repair.
