ubuntu desktop or server as dedicated server Definitely straight server if that's the work your doing. grab a coke and a laptop, and sit down and grind on using the terminal interface. desktop idols using about 300MB of RAM, server idols at 120MB. plus SQL and apps just seem to run better on the server, in my experience. |

Can Ubuntu run on a Microsoft Surface with Windows RT? great question! Ubuntu tablets are definitely a community interest, and canonical knows that! nobody can answer this question-yet. we really need to get our hands on the surface and start hacking. only 2 days until launch, 3 until its hacked. |

Size/length limitations of bash scripts oh, well that shouldn't matter either, my back up script is about 60 commands. 1 create backup, 2 move backup, 3, verify.. then repeat for 20 servers. good luck scripting! |

Why is “http://my.archive.ubuntu.com” very slow? I have had similar issues, but its only during certain times of the day, I concluded its likely because everybody is getting 12.10, and everybody is doing updates. |

Xubuntu/Lubuntu/Ubuntu 12.10 cannot load XFC/LXDE/Unity on netbook running Intel N2600 hmmm, I also used unetbootin for my netbook. I will see what I can come up with, but it may be the GPU. |

Xubuntu/Lubuntu/Ubuntu 12.10 cannot load XFC/LXDE/Unity on netbook running Intel N2600 I am using a similar Asus netbook, with the same processor. I am not having the same issue. 12.10 has been buggy, no videos issues. what medium are you using to install? and the install has no video problems? |

Ubuntu Live USB - Finding files that were stored on my flash drive installing an OS on a USB drive typically wipes the drive. unless you are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on professional file recovery, its likely not possible |
