BTW: If you wish to try a limited (a really limited yet useful) public hosting service try the x10hosting.com, that's where I host my own website at geppettvs.x10.mx and it is great for what is about learning. Then you will have a wide panorama of your chances on a paid service and the limits based on the cost of the service you pay. :)

comment What's the easiest way to set up a LAMP stack?
Whilst the usage of tasksel seems to be "easier", this should be the very easy way to do this task. This answer doesn't need other steps to do the job. Thank you!

Ok. I can't see what kind of an issue are you experiencing in your computer, in which manipulating the parameters of the WiFi Network do affect the Graphics and Keyboard but... Yes! I believe you! Good luck

Ok. Now we can say your driver is working at a very low speed. Which we see in the Bit Rate=28.9 Mb/s Tx-Power=19 dBm. Did you already try the command I suggested before? Try in a terminal this sudo iwconfig wlan0 rate 54M and please let us know if you experience an improved speed. After which we should work in a permanent workaround.

Please have a look at this manual: help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/… which will guide you trough the steps to do such thing. It is only text so if you wish to improve speed you might wish to use a terminal text-only web browser such as elinks or links2.

Ok, you should give it a try and report the other driver's results in order to receive a better support. So, I suggest you to try the command in the other driver, perhaps the "other driver" is the embedded one and "the faster" is a USB? That information is useful.

Somehow the results of your iwconfig seems a bit different from mine which shows an additional line with the Bit Rate=54 Mb/s Tx-Power=15 dBm values. Do you mind please trying sudo iwconfig wlan0 rate 54M in a terminal in order to see if this increases the speed on your WLan? This solved my slow WiFi Connection issue in a Lenovo T-400 Laptop. Let me know the results of your test in order to provide additional support for a workaround if this do the trick. Good luck!

comment How can I run a custom script on /usr/bin/ via cronjob?
Yes. That's it. I'll appreciate a lot if you add your suggestion to use the display trick as an answer in order to accept it as a solution, as this seems to fix the issue when it is about this kind of scripts which affects something on a defined display. Thank you very much @j0h! and many Thanks to all the people who provided some help.

@j0h: I have also tried that. The command now looks like feh --bg-scale "shuf -n1 -e /home/geppettvs/.i3/wall/*" and it does work on a terminal but doesn't run via cron. I am guessing the issue comes from the grave accent (`) which can be leading to an interruption in the cronjob's execution. Nevertheless, I have tried changing the grave accent for another symbol, after which the command stops working everywhere. I am going to put this in an edit in an attempt to gather some help improving this command. Thank you very much!

comment How to fix a fuzzy text issue which appears on every application or terminal emulator at random times?
@EduardoCola, thank you for advising. Look, my T-400 (a Laptop) only has the VGA connection for an external monitor, in which the problem is shown as in the main laptop's LCD. I don't have another T-400 by hand in order to run some testing so it's a bit difficult to say if it is a GPU problem. I have considered the overheating but the computer is not suffering such problem so I am going to discard that issue for now. I appreciate a lot your help. Have a nice day.
