Why does Ubuntu 12.10 Beta2 insist on commiting changes to the partition table? The solution is to force an unmount of the disk you want to install on BEFORE starting the installation program The command is: sudo umount -l -r -f /dev/sdXX It worked for me both on a boot from the cd image and when I followed a boot solution where the content in the iso is extraced to a partition. Why does Ubuntu 12.10 Beta2 insist on commiting changes to the partition table? Yes I did try to use gparted to prepare the partition first. I formated with ext4. |
