Xubuntu 12.04 : Random boot to black screen Hi. Sorry, you most likely do not have the same issue. The bug I mentionned above was corrected several months ago. Moreover I did not experience the mouse effects you are talking about at the time. Good luck ! |

Xubuntu 12.04 : Random boot to black screen Hey, I ran into new problems (using windows recovery environment by misclick and had to rebuild grub2 entirely. After that I thought the issue was solved because the blank screen did not happen for a while. However it is now back. I have checked the log again and from kern.log it appears I have the bug : bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1058303 (see edit). Is there any problem to revert to an official kernel after using the one provided in the bug report ? Should I post an answer to my question and consider it solved ? Thanks again ! |

Xubuntu 12.04 : Random boot to black screen I have already made a new install without removing /home configuration files as stated in my post. Do you think removing some of these or doing a fresh install after backing up my /home and deleting the conf file might work ? I would like this option better than engaging in a series of modifications I do not understand well enough. Thanks for your help ! |

Xubuntu 12.04 : Random boot to black screen I added information following troubleshooting blank screen, however I cannot verify troubleshooting freeze since I do not have an ethernet access to my netbook. Moreover I would like to avoid installing upstream Xorg/kernel because I will most likely have trouble removing them. |
