That "etc, etc" would be important.

comment UAC1 DAC (ODAC) and Ubuntu sound settings
You always use USB. These outputs (if they belong to that DAC at all) are for the digital and analog outputs of that DAC, i.e., they specify where the sound is routed after it has been transported to the DAC over USB.

I²S is a protocol different from USB. If your device is connected through USB, it is not possible for the laptop's built-in DAC to affect it.

All that aseqdump stuff is the way for debugging. To rule out a (software/hardware) problem with your PC, try with another PC.

12.04 is older than your hardware. Try a newer version (or at least a newer kernel).

"Midi Through" is an internal loopback that has nothing to do with your hardware. I don't know why nothing comes over the USB cable; maybe the keyboard must be configured somehow? Is there a manual? The MIDI cable appears to be broken; try to plug it into another (even Windows) computer.

What exactly did you do in the "MIDI" cases (where nothing is happening)?

I meant when you connect the keyboard directly, without the USB/MIDI interface. (14:0 is not an hardware port.)

Did you connect the keyboard's output to the interface's input? Why aren't you just using the USB cable?
