comment Firefox totally unusable after v35, and still the same problem on v36 on ubuntu 14.10
I use Ubuntu 14.04. Firefox had been working ok for me but after the recent v37 update I have been having severe delays connection to web sites. Just out of curiousity when I run Chrome at the same time... Chrome is having NO problem connection to the very same URL web site locations almost instantly. Its not a physical connectivity issue because while troubleshooting I can run a constant ping to "google.com" and response times are consistent at around 35msec and there is no pause/delay in pings.

comment How can I fix a failed Ubuntu to Lubuntu switch?
Sudo apt-get install lubuntu-desktop should have been all you needed to do to ubuntu w unity to add lubuntu to the login menu. Then you just select either lububtu or unity each time you log in.
