comment Install Nvidia driver for CUDA to use “GPU” option in Blender (ubuntu (13.10-) 14.04)
Strange. I work with 2.70a and it runs with CUDA support. It worked for me since almost 2 years now in all blender versions. But good to hear that it works for you with 2.96.

comment No Cuda in Ubuntu 12.04?
Thats absolutely true. CUDA Installation is NOT needed. (But in the first try I installed CUDA too - later I just did not and worked as well.) But I am wondering why Blender does not have the CUDA Support enabled by default? Why do I always have to download Blender from the webpage just to be able to enable CUDA?????

comment Two Ubuntus in my grub bootloader
Just for others who might have the same problem with "really" installed ubuntus ... and want to remove unnecessary entries: omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/07/kernel-entries-gone But do not delete all of them. I alwys keep the last two - just in case.

comment Fast (twice in <1s) pressing of the same key on keyboard is not recognized correctly. What can it be?
You could try the following: manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/lucid/man8/kbdrate.8.html There you can set the repeat spead that you have with your keyboard. Another way would be to set in bios if possible. But you said that it works in other os - so I would stick to my first link.

It says "USB 2.0 Controller Mode" and should be in there ... good luck.
