The PPA probably hasn't been updated.

comment How to convert all pdf files to text (within a folder) with one command?
You can avoid the find command searching in subdirectories by using -maxdepth 1. Also, when putting it into Thunar's custom actions feature, you should probably replace find . with find %F to allow Thunar to properly pass the paths of the selected directories.

Wouldn't this produce files like "filename.pdf.txt"?

comment How can I revert a config file back to the originally installed version after I have edited it?
Is it possible to purge and reinstall a package if other installed packages depend on it?

Purging the package may not be an option if others depend on it.

comment How can I set default terminal used in Unity?
This doesn't fix it for me. When I start Htop via its .desktop file (which specifies Terminal=True), it starts in Gnome Terminal no matter what. Is there yet another place to change the default terminal emulator?

This is talking about terminal emulators, not shells.

I don't think you read the question.

comment How to permanently enable compressed ram swap? What version to use?
/etc/init/ is where Upstart init scripts live. The ones in /etc/init.d are mostly just compatibility wrappers that call the ones in /etc/init.

comment How can I switch my current session between Unity, Unity 2D, and Gnome?
Mostly I was just wondering if it was possible.

comment Am I using Unity or Unity 2D?
You should try to distinguish between differences that will always be present (due to limitations of running without 3D accelaration) and differences that are simply a result of Unity 2D development lagging behind Unity 3D, since the latter differences will eventually disappear.

comment Is there a tool to update my PPA sources.list entries after upgrading?
Ok, that sounds like exactly what I asked for. I'll have to try it out next upgrade cycle.

comment Is there a tool to update my PPA sources.list entries after upgrading?
Does it selectively enable only PPAs that actually exist for the upgraded version of Ubuntu?

comment Why do I get Ubuntu Classic instead of Unity the first time I log in after rebooting?
Yes, the default session is set to "Ubuntu".

comment Cannot write to Folder mounted with SSHFS
In my experience, you cannot mount a FUSE filesystem at all unless FUSE is already configured. The fact that the OP has successfully mounted the filesystem indicates that this has been done already. The information on fstab and public-key auth, while useful, is not relevant to solving the OP's problem.

comment Concatenating AVI videos
Most of the answers below do not address the framerate issue in the question. Please don't just suggest a tool, but demonstrate how that tool may be used to correctly join multiple video files with differing framerates.

It would help if you posted a short transcript showing how you tried to write to the sshfs filesystem, along with the resulting error.

comment How to connect and disconnect to a network manually in terminal?
If you are going to be messing with your system's network connection manager, I recommend that you do so while connected via wired ethernet, which is less likely to lose its connection, and easier to set up from the command line, should the need arise.

I've never heard of any such feature. Can you point to a manual page or other documentation somewhere that describes this?
