PPPD Is Locking the Modem and Not Releasing It OK just realised that they don't match up, but the capture at the bottom is where the modem locks, our software tracks dial out attempts and that was the first of today, every attempt after it failed. The kernel error at the top of the post we have seen before when the pppd has locked the modem though. |

Two monitors with Asus P7H55 and Ubuntu 12.04LTS Try enabling Mirror Display and see if it shows anything, also I assume you've tried swapping over the cables or trying different cables to rule out issues with the ports themselves. Recently we had a Sandy Bridge motherboard here stop detecting monitors on the DVI port completly. |

Can't Talk Out to The Internet, But Can Connect In and Resolve IP Addresses I no longer need help with this issue, I required the outbound connection to perform a system update, so we simply moved the computer to another network and did the update from there. |

Can't Talk Out to The Internet, But Can Connect In and Resolve IP Addresses Yes, most of the time if I do that it takes out my external connection and won't let me back in (I have a dial up modem connection I can use to revert changes that break the internal network though). The first time I did it though it took my connection out for a while then let me back in later. Basically their network management company told me the firewall was on the server and that the server address was 192.168.0.1, however dhcp provides 192.168.0.254 as the default gateway. |
