Dual-monitor configuration with one in landscape mode and the other in portrait mode? It is possible to rotate 1 screen with the nvidia driver but a pain. every driver update you have to fiddle with it again |

How to manage users and groups? The "user accounts" is just plain WRONG ubuntu has dumbed down the settings pannel way to far so users wont hurt them selves. If they are going to make a control pannel for dummies they need to add in a switch or other simple method for power users to get access to the normal controls with out having to install 100 normal and expected default tools |

Stop Xscreensaver from locking screen once screensaver starts Granted most screensavers dont do what they need to. moire2 is a good example of ones that do work. screen burn in is still a problem even on lcd's I have a pc that the right monitor is rotated and has a scroll bar on the right side of the screen about 12-16 hrs a day. I set the screen saver for 10 min and blank for 20 so that moire can excersize out that scroll bar burn in. after about 3 months of use like that you could easily see where the scroll bar and other buttons were due to burn in. |

Voice control over desktop enviornment the older version of gnome voice that is in synaptic gave me the same results. I tried the latest from the website and it seemed to get further but I never did get it to work properly. the manual dependancys were a pain to. |

How can I change permissions on external drives? That doesnt always work even if it is true that it is mounte by the user. ubuntu has gotten confused several times on perms of my shares. I have set 774 and had the users group added to the folders and still nothing worked quite right if ubuntu automounted it. |

How can I change permissions on external drives? this worked great for my issue. I have been fighting this for some time and even updating privledges from console/root didnt always help. using the app to set things up has worked since. |
