comment Span Wallpaper Fails When Monitors Different Sizes
Silly me, all I really needed to do was use "zoomed fill" instead of "span". If you can be bothered to adjust your image to be the perfect resolution one can use span, and they will get it exactly how they want, but the zoomed fill takes no effort.

Ok so that worked. Is the trick that I must get the picture to have the exact width of the two screens combined and the height of the largest screen? Is it the aspect ratio that's the most important thing or getting the width exactly right?

comment Failed to fetch update on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr)
I had this problem and found that I had to run the solution on my mirror, not my local client that was using the mirror. Then just run sudo apt-mirror as usual afterwards to update the mirror and wait for it to finish.
