Have been with Unix since my school days but wasn't a big fan of the non-GUI OS apart from its security & stability.
Started my career with focus on Microsoft. Completed my Bachelors Degree as a Computer Programmer, Masters Degree in IT along with Microsoft Certifications (System Engineer & System Administrator).
Worked for Large Corporations such as GE Australia, Coles Group Australia Head Office, Symbion and have big plans for the future, in Technology.
Always wanted to get my hands on the well known Linux GUI system but never had the chance until early Last Year (2011). Since then have moved away from Windows completely.
Have built a LTSP Thin Client Environment to save power due to increasing Utility bills and Stability issues with Windows and have never looked back.
Currently have a Ubuntu 12.04 LTSP Server acting as a Apache Server, Print Server, Samba Server, SSH Server, SSL Server with 2 Fat Clients connected to it and it works like a charm.
The Clients do not have any hard drives and I have set up a NAS which backs up crucial Linux profiles and files. Also set up a Clone of the Server.
Am a programmer by heart. I look at life very much as I would look at a code/script (logically) ;)
Over the years have learned Perl, Pascal, Cobol, C, C++, Visual Basic, .Net, Java, Php, Windows Scripting (VBS), Java Scripting and have extensive experience as a Windows System Engineer.
Looking to get more experienced in Linux and contribute to the lovely Linux Community in all the ways I can.
