comment Wine Issues with Installing
First this is a unmet dependency error which i have added as duplicate to the correct question. Second please follow my wine guide to properly install and configure wine. With both of this questions you should be well on your way on having wine working in no time.

comment Wine needs uninstall of nvidia-cuda-toolkit that I need too!
Please use the wine ppa. It should be offering the 1.7.25 version and not have that issue.

I agree with bodhi.zazen. Still, if you wish to play windows games, dual boot Windows and Ubuntu. The limitations of Wine will never affect your kernel but they will affect any file inside your home folder since wine has the same permissions as the user running at that time.

Cedega died many decades ago, I wrote an article about it detailing how Cedega actually started and what happened to it after Wine 1.2 came out (Which basically killed Cedega). For points 11.1 and 11.2 they are very good, I would even add that if a virus or trojan lands on Wine, it will multiply the same as in Windows, so the user might start to see several "odd" files on their home folder. Of course, the limitation is that wine can only do so much and only on specific folders, but still a virus could be made to be run on Windows and search for Linux home folders.

@minerz029, Hi friend, I have edited your question to make it more general in regards to dual booting with Windows 8.
