comment Can't find ALL wireless networks, just my neighbours
Can you provide a source for this problem you are mentioning. In my case it happens both scenarios. On one I can see like a million wireless hotspots. In the other I can see only the spot next to my room and thats it.

comment Are PPA's safe to add to my system and what are some “red flags” to watch out for?
Yes. It applies to any PPA. Remember that a PPA its just an easy way to update a program or group of programs via someone that takes it into their time to have them upgraded. So it is a place where someone dedicates his or her time for something to be updated or compatible with the latest/older system. But since it is a human that is doing it, there might be mistakes on the way.

comment Does Ubuntu support 3TB or more hard drive sizes
jrg - A lof new techologies have arisen to attack this "Will die", "will loose all data" problems. I have 4 1TB hard drives that thanks to that technology they tell me how many bad sectors they have, the temperature, faulty problems, etc.. They even have alerts when the hard drive feels it could die soon, alerting the user to make a full backup as soon as possible. All of this was not available 10 years, 15 years ago. And more features are added to give a level of security to the user. The biggest applied example is dedicated servers with 1TB, 2TB spaces (Not RAID mode) and that says much.

Are you sure "This seems to be"?. Heck, it is the same exact thing. Except here is now with a bonus of "More examples and alternatives."

comment How to split larger files into smaller parts?
For what i know, Gzip (like tar) do not have an easy option to split the compressed file. In all cases i have seen them using the split command to "split" the compress file. So it would not be a command but a group of commands to achieve a single purpose which can be done with a single one like split or 7z. For the installation of 7Zip (which is the p7zip of p7zip-full package) it has never asked me for iirc ;).

comment How to split larger files into smaller parts?
Did not include rar since is not open source yet (As far as I know) and did not add Tar since I was looking for easy ways of doing the split.

comment How to split larger files into smaller parts?
There are several ways of splitting/joining a file before having to go to a program like this. I rather use the powerful options that linux offers and for splitting/merging files it has some pretty fast, safe ways of doing it.

comment How can I install Linux Kernel 3.0 in 11.04?
I really would recommend not to update. There are so many changes in the 3.0 version that it will sure break everything. Why not wait for Ubuntu 11.10. Having the latest does not mean it will be a good thing.

comment NVIDIA drivers not working after upgrade. Why can I only see terminal?
Am not saying to install something else. Am saying that the most compatible in this case is the one that comes with Ubuntu. This has been proven time and time again that it gives fewer problems, it is more friendly when doing an update/upgrade and you have more documentation and community feedback for it. If i were to talk about java i would recommend the openjdk for many reasons, for python the one that comes default because it has already been tested and so on and so forth. You get my point here am guessing.

comment Using iPod in Banshee alongside iTunes?
Sorry he was the one that did it the first time. Normally i took it to his house and while he was doing that i was doing something else. But i did ask and he said he just plugged the device in, itune opened it and the end. No additional stuff to do. That was the first time. The rest of the times i just plugged it at his Mac and just sync. I will ask if he did something the first time just to be sure.

comment Firefox blocks my nvidia drivers MOZ_GLX_IGNORE_BLACKLIST
Are you SURE you have Firefox 5. Go to Help -> About in Firefox because right now am writing this on Firefox 5.0. Make sure is not some Beta/Alpha/Omega something. It should say only 5.0 in the version number.

comment In terms of battery usage, which distro is more efficient between Lubuntu and Xubuntu?
Thanks fossfreedom. I find it rather odd since I always check phoronix every day. Must have been the day I went to the other galaxy to fight an alien invasion. For the reply about scottl good questions. Maybe answers can be found in their forums or answered by the phoronix team (or maybe already posted but you were also with me fighting aliens with plasma guns and duke nukem.
