comment How to install requests module for Python 3.1 ubuntu server 10.04?
I really REALLY highly extremely recommend and ask that you update yourself to 14.04 where you will find less python issues (A lot less) than staying with a 4 year old version of Ubuntu.

comment Two wifi connections-only one is working, Ubuntu 12.04 and 13.10
What network changes did you make between both versions (Just in case you did). Can you test out any ipv4/ipv6 changes on both network managers? We need more information to solve your issue since we are only working with what you are posting.

comment Minecraft Frozen
Your problem is related to how the video card is handling the game. You are either using a video card without the recommended mininum hardware or have not configured correctly minecraft ingame. Both of which cause the exact issues you are having.

comment Is there any battery management software to work with a laptop plugged to AC power so as to save the battery lifetime?
Aah! got it friend. So it has a problem when it reaches the 100% where it starts a charge/discharge loop. Have you per chance tried powertop which helps a bit finding out what causes stuff like that. What you have then is a serious problem. Could be hardware that is reading the battery correctly or doing the help "saving" job wrong.

comment Is there any battery management software to work with a laptop plugged to AC power so as to save the battery lifetime?
There is no problem with leaving it charge after 100%. The battery and the system that charges it were created to make sure than when it reached 100% or close to it, there would be not "overcharge". Like Wilf said, leave the battery charging how long you want, it won't wear out. It will in fact loose battery life faster if you discharge it completely and then try to charge it back to 100%. For a battery management software, Linux already comes with some pretty good ones and the Unity panel shows a battery icon for it.

comment Wifi drivers won't work after I upgraded kernel to 3.4 for ubuntu 12.04
Will mark as duplicate but tanaka please let us know if your case which is 14e4:4331 rev 02 has an answered by installing the linux-firmware-nonfree. This is important to figure which versions of broadcom hardware are fixed with which driver.

The links by belacqua offer a lot of information about the differences and usage. Closing since it is not related to an Ubuntu issue, but more of a programming one. I highly recommended following the links mentioned above.

What version of Ubuntu are you using and what other steps you took to check what the problem could be?. This might be a hardware issue or even a electrical issue (Not grounded for instance).

comment wireless bcm4318 not working
Hi Peter, please update the answer so it does not look like a comment but an actual answer, something like "I read the whole broadcom answer by Luis alvarado & Chili555 and it sucked, so I made a better one about the BCM4318 rev2 correct driver"... or something to that effect ^^.

Don't worry, I ask because every once in a while a very special case appears, like yours. I will open the question and you can add the specific answer to this particular case. Thanks for the feedback in tracking all possible cases. I have added your case (4318 Rev2) to the list.

@PeterMasiar Hi, for the down vote I guess someone takes down voting to serious. I have upvoted you since this type of question do not deserve a downvote. For the correct installation, you are saying you did #2 which is "firmware-b43-installer", is this correct? I would also ask if you edited any config files previous to installing this specific driver or in general have a 100% clean ubuntu install before proceeding to install the driver mentioned, this is because some installations leave config files behind that may affect how other similar drivers work.

I recommend in the meantime to follow the bug report and report the error you are getting there while this driver is worked one. For what I can see, you have several options apart from the one you are doing. You can also follow up on the comments in the Wirama site.

comment Ubuntu unusably slow on Acer Aspire One
Hi brentonstrine, I was going to answer but thi is actually a question similar to the one xangua mentions about Ubuntu on low end hardware. For an Atom processor with 2 GB I highly recommend Lubuntu, followed by Xubuntu as the duplicate question points out in the answer by fossfreedom.
