comment smbtree produces no output
I would first try to start from a clean Samba configuration file. At the moment I do not have an idea (Working on something else) but my suggestion would be that. It can simplify where the problem is appearing when you tested this.

comment How do Ubuntu flavors compare regarding resource consumption and performance?
@Insperatus the question was pointed to the original comparison between versions since it still takes into consideration the information you are asking. I have removed the bounty you added. If you wish to use it, you can do it on the duplicate question. Sorry for the trouble.

same thoughts for a couple of my answers LOL. I think they confuse "very bad answer" with "missing some additional information".. or they don't know they can comment on how to improve the answer.

comment How do Ubuntu flavors compare regarding resource consumption and performance?
Curious that this question came up exactly at this time. I am doing a pretty long test on all 8 flavors of Ubuntu. From resource usage, to desktop and more, with the intention of helping out new users decide which one helps the most.

comment Wine needs uninstall of nvidia-cuda-toolkit that I need too!
Then your case might be related to conflict between PPA. Do you have any other PPA added? Like the Xorg one?. To answer your question, it is possible to have both installed. I have them right now working together. In my case I have the 304 libopencl for example but I just updated to 343 with no problem. Try it again, if not send me an email to luisalvarado@ubuntu.com and I'll be glad to help you directly and find out what is happening in the first place.

comment Stuck in low-graphics mode, normal method not working
@schwiz correct. I even would go out and suggest to do a "reinstall" of the packages just in case one of them does not install but still is missing a configuration file. That would be like "sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop xserver-xorg"

You can fix it from there or recovery. I am glad that at least F4 works. I would do a full upgrade from there, many times an update will fix this.

comment Wine Issues with Installing
First this is a unmet dependency error which i have added as duplicate to the correct question. Second please follow my wine guide to properly install and configure wine. With both of this questions you should be well on your way on having wine working in no time.

Please use the wine ppa. It should be offering the 1.7.25 version and not have that issue.

@schwiz check out your question again and try my advice. I got that problem one time on 11.10 or 12.04.

comment How to change Teamviewer ID after cloning
I firts it would seem this would fix that problem, even with the variables inside the file, but actually after deleting the whole config file in both, the opt folder and on the .config folder, the problem is the same. I am guessing this should be something the teamviewer team should check out for cases where one wants to clone and have a quick way of solving it.

@schwiz I suggest to create a question about it. It could be missing configuration file, wrong configuration setup and more.
