comment How to get same Portuguese keyboard as Ubuntu in Xubuntu
Sweet ... I mean I've installed over Ubuntu but I can easily run it inside a VM to see what differs.

I guess what I want most is just to use the same layout program that is in Ubuntu. I want that exact same program with that exact same mapping and behaviour ... I think though that I might just have to create the mapping myself ... also I'd like to know where I can find a keyboard preview program

My keyboard is properly configured for English (it is an English keyboard). The problem is that the Portuguese layout is different to the one I have in Ubuntu and I don't know how I can get that in Xubuntu ... how can I "see" the keyboard layout in xubuntu?

comment Why does xubuntu 13.04 periodically blacken for no good reason
It's an iMac with 4GB RAM ... though it is actually fading to black as if it had been inactive. My inactivity settings are set to around 15-20 minutes, which is a time frame I am far from reaching when this occurs.

comment Getting an Alcatel X230D connected
I run it once, wait about 30 seconds and then the mobile broadband is made available. After that I was able to run the wizard and configure the connection.

+1: Using Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit and this worked by simply changing usb_modeswitch.conf and running sudo usb_modeswitch -c usb_modeswitch.conf while in the /etc directory!
