On a german forum it says that you need the following packages: pcsc-tools, pcsc-omnikey, pcscd, libpcsc-perl, libtowitoko2 (source: forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/kartenleser-von-cherry-verwenden)

On 32bit I needed libc6 libusb-1.0-0 libpcsc-perl packages. Search for them on the 64bit.

Reboot your computer, than watch the output of dmesg when plugging in the card reader. You should see activity on it. If not, it means that pcscd is not installed or is not active.
