comment USB Keyboard not working in Xubuntu session - How to debug?
@Lekensteyn - thank you! xinput list --long does indeed report it as disabled, and enabling makes it work. So I can at least script a way to enable it (though when I plug it out and in it still ends up disabled). Still curious as to why, but if you post an answer (even a very simple one) then I can give you the bounty...

I've tested and this issue does not occur in a Unity or Gnome session, or if I just launch a terminal in the session. It only occurs in an Xfce or Xubuntu session

comment Can't log Out of Xubuntu
That's very clear, but I still want some other features from the session management (like suspend). Why doesn't the logout work and how can I investigate this further?

comment RipOff 0.8.3 not finding ANY plugins
I have the same problem. Note that the mp3 library is installed at /usr/lib/${arch}/plugins/liblame.so, whereas ripoff is actually looking at /usr/lib/ripoff/plugins/ - symlinking it there doesn't help though; ripoff seems to scan that directory for files but not actually load the plugins from it...

I have a similar problem, did this start recently? Have you opened a bug report beyond this?

That's a good hypothesis. But I added these networks under Unity, and even if I try and re-add them, the password is not remembered. So I need to know how to debug this...

Thanks Vembu, they are shared to all users, and I tried turning it on and off again (unsuccessfully)
