comment cant play certain dvd's on ubuntu/mint
If I'm not mistaken once you are able to play "restricted" DVD's at all, then those instructions Hugo shared are no longer relevant as you have probably already done that at some point. The ending part of this article may help as it mentions libdvdcss2 may have been removed before you enabled DVD playback before and offers a ppa for it. Just grasping at possibilities though. ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2014/04/… I will try to find some disney DVD's and try them myself today.

comment Sharing files and devices between 2 Linux machines
No answer takers yet :-( I have tried all "flavors" of Ubuntu at this point, and none have been intuitive to connect to machines together in this way. Why??? I think its the year 2014 right? not 1994?

comment Sharing files and devices between 2 Linux machines
Those are an interesting read. But between 2 Linux machines, Samba is not necessary as its intented to bridge between Windows and Linux, where Linux works natively.-----And though I could probably learn alot from reading about NFS, I know for sure I didn't go through all that with the older versions of Ubuntu, so things should be gettings easier newer versions, not harder. --------The only thing I might have done is right click on a directory > Properties > Then seen a "Sharing" tab at the top, or maybe was under permission, then allowed for everything. All GUI. Why is this not standard???

Haha true, but some apps have been relatively rock solid, despite my enjoyment of distro hopping. Guake, Synapse (GnomeDo clone) GDebi installer, Xiphos Bible software. Love graphical Linux is lately, while still being solid. :-)

no it doesn't, I use Guake, which is why the terminal cover the whole top of the screen. Being not so tall, but so wide, makes the alsamixer squeeze into the small space, so it fits everything in the termianl easily. If I had a smaller terminal, it would do what your saying. But nope that is all the options alsamixer gives me.

Please read my newest update @RolandiXor. Sadly, the problem hasn't gone away. :-(

Updating a person who tried to answer with the result. Didn't fix the problem.

This is exactly the Terminal screen I was talking about. Thank you sir. Sadly it did not fix my problem though. :-( I just don't understand what could be causing it.

comment Changing Launchpad username, and How to know what sites will be affected?
I can go to that page and it shows my account and list of sites. But the only thing I see to change is my Full Name, Email address. And password. It doesn't even show my username at all. Did Launchpad change somehow?

No, Restarting into my normal Xubuntu install on the hard drive does not fix the problem. But using a Live USB does fix it sort of. But if while booted into that Live USB, I watch the same exact WebM video, the sound does the same thing about 5 to 10 minutes in. And nothing I do brings it back. No MP3's play, no OGG, no MP4 videos. Nothing. So this is not a hardware issue. Its complicated in the details, but I'm positive its a setting somewhere, but I have no idea how to find it. And Pulse Audio settings does not help.
