How to show avatar and username (not only full name) on the login screen? This is a good tip, thanks. But I already had the avatar configured through the GUI. The problem is that unity does not show it on the login screen. It only shows it in "User Accounts", and in the locked screen. |

How to uninstall a firefox plugin? @GarryCairns I don't know, because I need the install menu to pop up again so I can install the other plugin, so I thought I needed to uninstall, instead of disable (disable plugin and reload page didn't make the install menu to pop up). |

After installing Ubuntu from USB, GRUB2 can't be installed! This worked for me, thanks! I just ran the "Recommended Repair". A little warning though: At some point it asked me if I wanted to continue, and recommended to backup stuff. I chose 'no' but it continued nevertheless. |

Can't restore unity desktop Nothing works. Seems like a plugin is missing or something, and it breaks everything. I need something more drastic. Installing ubunt-desktop took a lot of time the first time (I installed from server edition) but I wouldn't care as long as I don't have to reinstall from live CD and lose my files. But this time with the '--reinstall' parameter it took just a second, not what I expected. Any ideas? |

How to add a system wide equalizer in Ubuntu 12? @fossfreedom Ok thanks, it worked. But everything is so buggy.. I fixed the bass with the equalizer, but now sound is too low, and I can't turn it higher. Also, flash doesn't care about the equalizer, seems like it uses a different driver or something. And sometimes the volume control stops working. This is frustrating. |
