I enjoy exploring many areas of Ubuntu and Unix/Linux.

I also enjoy proposing patches using Ubuntu Distributed Development, and I currently help maintain the Lernid package used with Ubuntu classes.

revised Unable to sync time using `ntpdate`, error: “no server suitable for synchronization found”
Syntax for ntpdate ntpdate servername, not simply ntpdate. A simple `ntpdate` will give the above error.

revised How can I remove Amazon search results from the dash or disable the feature?
Add package icon/link, add my suggested deletions, mention one time adjustements to what is searched, emphasize Amazon since that's the question. Point out the great number of scopes. Add the missing Filter click.

comment What happens under the covers to log me in and start up the Unity Graphics User Interface?
@james You can probably check for compiz or awesome in the process list. You get that with a command such as ps aux . You can also check the file ~/.dmrc for the Session parameter cat ~/.dmrc. See above. The Session=ubuntu means you are using compiz and unity together (and that's the default.
