comment How do I fix the HDMI/DVI display output with Intel HD 4000 Graphics in 12.04?
Also please add exactly what problems you are having with the HDMI/DVI output(s). Are they not working at all, working partially, being buggy, or what? The more specific you are the more likely you will get a helpful answer.

What kind of graphics card do you have (HMDI and DVI are usually routed through the graphics chipset)?

comment How do I find a proprietary driver for the Intel graphics card I have?
open a terminal (either open the dash, type terminal and click on the icon or press Alt-F2 and type gnome-terminal and then hit enter) and type amnesia and hit enter. the game should start, but you'll have the terminal in the background outputting the errors.

Intel makes open source drivers--so you don't need to enable proprietary drivers for it, the OEM drivers are included in the kernel (well as long as you have a recent kernel).

comment How do I completely remove Ubuntu/Grub and replace it with the Windows 7 bootloader?
actually what what be most useful is if you could install (sudo apt-get install boot-info-script), run (sudo boot-info-script) and post the results (a file called results.txt in the directory you ran the command in) to paste.ubuntu.com

Well, if you are willing to use linux tools to fix the problem, start by posting the output of sudo fdisk -l this will give us an idea of what your partition table looks like.

There are ways to fix this using a combination of a Ubuntu liveCD and then your Windows boot media. However, seeing as how you say you "want a way to fix this through WINDOWS, not UBUNTU", I might suggest that askUbuntu is probably not the place to ask this question. You might try a Microsoft oriented help site.

comment My Dell Inspiron 1501 wont connect to any network (wireless or wired)
Regarding wireless not working, check to see if you've enabled the wireless drivers in Jockey (Alt-F2 / jockey-gtk / Enter). AS for the wired, check and make sure that your router is working, doesn't have MAC address filtering or anything funky enabled.

comment Ubuntu 12.04 takes too long to boot
You can press <kbd>Esc</kbd> to drop from "the dots" to a screen that actually says what Ubuntu is doing as it is booting up. Doing so might give more information about exactly what is going wrong.

if you type ls -al is there a file called .trash-1000 in it? If not could you try making this file and see if that helps (touch /var/www/.trash-1000)?
