I design and develop user interfaces for the desktop, the Web, and mobile devices. It's fun.

comment Ubuntu installation hangs at partition menu
I've had this problem before too. I believe I was able to get past it with a reboot and re-try, but it's been a while now.

comment Ubuntu installation hangs at partition menu
the question is not "how do I partition my disk?". The question is "why does the tool hang when I try to partition my disk?"

comment How to install Ubuntu on a Samsung NP355V5C-S03IN with an AMD APU
+bbaja42. I've installed multiple versions of Ubuntu on my HP dm1z machine, which has an AMD APU, and I've had no problems partitioning my disks or installing the OS next to Win7.

comment Why does Ubuntu keep logging me out?
ah, ok. "Segmentation fault" is what happens when a program tries to access some memory that doesn't belong to it. In this case, it's your Xorg process that's behaving badly. It's ok if the numbers in brackets change, but it the segmentation fault address the same each time? Have you tried going to wiki.x.org for help, like the error message suggests?

comment Why does Ubuntu keep logging me out?
OP specifically said it happens when they jump around in the file or move the video player window around. That implies to me that they're not reaching a login screen due to inactivity.
