Overwrote /bin/bash, after replacing still broken Thanks! Your way is quite simpler than mine, IF it works fine. ;) I learned the hard way to be really careful with that sudo command. |

How can I rip an audio CD to an ISO image? Do any/all of these preserve the original data of the CD image? using .iso format would not be necessary if another image format would be an exact representation, to the extent that it is mountable as a volume. Would this work? The whole point of this is to register the CD info in MusicBrainz.org without having the actual disc with me. Thanks. |

How can I rip an audio CD to an ISO image? ^ for .cue description, read below. // Thanks for the info. I actually wanted a perfect representation of the original cd, without using any kind of compression/encoding. Thanks! |

How can I rip an audio CD to an ISO image? Thanks to everyone for questions/comments/answers. I see that iso is a bad choice and a difficult option for storing audio CD images. I think I would prefer .cue, but I'm not sure. |

How can I rip an audio CD to an ISO image? Thank you. Yes it is an audio CD. So I tested it, and I see that .iso is an option for data CD's but not audio CD's. I've learned something new, lol. So how about getting those .cue files working? |

Automatic Mute Speakers When Headphones are Unplugged Update: you will notice that despite the master volume in alsamixer, your most recent system volume setting will "pick up where it left off" once you try to adjust the volume using the laptop's XF86Audio volume control buttons. |

Automatic Mute Speakers When Headphones are Unplugged I just tested it with headphones. I have something enabled which I would call "auto-mute on headphone detect" (I edited some config file via tutorial in the past). My solution in the answer above works as well as I could possibly imagine it working! :) Cheers. Enjoy. |
