comment How can I input to a file directly from the terminal
I actually needed to paste more than would fit on a line to the text... I wanted to paste a file into my terminal window, and have it save to a file where the terminal was connected.

Thanks, I knew there was something like this, couldn't for the life of me remember, and searching google was just about impossible to find this.

Seth, "OpenSSH_6.6.1, OpenSSL 1.0.1f 6 Jan 2014" ... Installed with msysgit/git-extensions - most of the *nix tools I use in windows come via that route...

comment New SSD is VERY SLOW under Xubuntu 14.04
Okay... short of testing the performance in another system, I'm still pretty sure that the bottleneck isn't your drive. I'm sorry I didn't catch the model number in question. I'd run a test of the drive in a more powerful system to be certain, though I haven't seen an SSD behave slowly (unless it's nearly full, and there are a lot of dead regions) I've seen them outright fail, and many other issues, never slow.

comment How do I sudo without having to enter my password?
I was wanting to do this just for my ansible ci/cd user.. so that my management scripts can run unattended as part of my CI/CD process. I wouldn't say that's inherently insecure as it's for one user and only via ssh with a private/public key pair.
