This would be perfect with a link to the spec

@Shnd X actually starts before lightdm, because lightdm also runs in X. So if you want to run something as your user you probably want it "after lightdm authentication succceeded" or in other words "when the desktop is starting". It is also possible to run a script when you computer just bootet, no matter if you have a logged in user or not (that is what starts X for example) than that is a completely different question. If you want to run something as user, you probably want that and the answer depends on your init system.

Doesn't work for me, and also isn't necessary.

the first of these should be the marked answer. With dd the potential to destroy some partition or disk is imo greater than with that GUI tool

Can't add the 50 karma bounty back. Could only add a 100 karma bounty, which would cost all I have. :-/

Btw. for whatever reason the bounty had a timeout. If I implement your solution I will of course add the bounty back before I mark your answer as solution. ;)

The laptop comes with two graphics card. One onboard intel and a second card from NVidia. If I understand correctly I don't really wnat to deactivate on boot, or do I? I thought the intel is used for Gnome and the nvidia gets used for games. But I really don't know enough about that topic to be sure or look it up.

I already did that. But that's not the problem.
