How can I turn off “eye candy” and make Ubuntu run as fast as possible? Also, the 2194 question is from the 10.04-era (pre-Unity, no?) whereas the OP asks about the 12.04 ("latest version"). I agree with him---it's easier to configure Win XP wrt visual performance vs. appearance. |

How can I make my Ubuntu 12.04 auto-shutdown when battery is fully charged? This script looks reasonable to me. Note that the script will need to be run as root, e.g. sudo python ./battery.py (assuming the script is called battery.py and is located in the current dir). |

Can my machine run Ubuntu( kubuntu | xubuntu | mint ) 12.04 WELL? Can you add the link to the thread about video card support? I just upgraded from 10.10 to 12.04, have a moderately old nvidia card, and can only use the "nouveau" (slow) driver. |
