Yes this problem is seen in 14.04.2, for the time being it is suggested to use 14.04.1

As we've asked before, please provide ~/.cloud-install/commands.log.

Also by default the installer uses Juno release, is there a particular reason why you need Icehouse?

comment can't bootstrap in Landscape OpenStack Autopilot
That is an ssh error, looks juju is using an incorrect ssh key for logging into the nodes.

10.0.3.147 is your container's ip address. This error is weird though: ERROR there was an issue examining the environment: admin-secret: expected string, got int(123). Can you paste your ~/.cloud-install/commands.log AND ~/.cloud-install/config.yaml, use paste.ubuntu.com or some other pastebin

comment Landscape fails when using openstack-installer (even /experimental fails)
Also you are running the installer as the 'root' user. You should be running it with sudo instead.

comment can't bootstrap in Landscape OpenStack Autopilot
if juju is failing to bootstrap outside of the installer then this seems like a different issue not related to the installer. can you acquire and start a node via maas and see if you can connect to the system? Also once connected are you able to get out to the internet from that machine?

Im not sure why this question is on hold, but please file a bug on this issue at github.com/Ubuntu-Solutions-Engineering/openstack-installer/…, we do check for encoding but apparently not early enough since you are hitting this traceback.

Its giving you a bunch of connection timeouts which indicate a problem with the network setup.

comment can't bootstrap in Landscape OpenStack Autopilot
Are you able to juju bootstrap outside of the installer to a node in your MAAS environment? It'd be interesting to see if the bootstrap is failing and not the installer. Also are you behind any proxies?

comment Node Enlistment for the Canonical Distribution of Ubuntu Openstack
Can you paste.ubuntu.com the /var/log/maas/maas.log and /var/log/maas/pserv.log preferably around the time that you attempt to have the node detected by MAAS. If pserv is not indicating that its actually attempting to communicate with that node then that usually means something with the network is misconfigured. At the very least it should PXE from the MAAS server. Also maybe a sosreport -o maas would help here as well.

Do you have another dhcp/dns service listening on that network? If so the network boot could be attempting to pxe from that rather than the maas provided dns/dhcp

looks like it is timing out attempting to connect to your MAAS machine. Was that setup prior to running the installer?

comment Openstack Juno Juju Charms for Utopic
@user281985 1st A) Nope, Juno charms work fine on Trusty (14.04), 2nd A) im not quite sure on the status of nova-compute-lxc but wiki.ubuntu.com/OpenStack/LXC seems to indicate that someone has got it working in 14.04, You may want to open a bug against the nova package and add your error logs detailing your issue with nova-compute-lxc
