comment unable to paste with xclip outside of terminal
It is equally as easy to paste by piping to xclip without additional arguments. Instead of Ctrl+v, just use middle mouse click.

comment Switch from NVidia to internal Intel HD graphics - OpenGL does not work
This seems to be kind of an essential step for new distributions of Ubuntu, when installed on a system with only Intel onboard graphics. I never had nVidia anything on my laptop, and 13.10 was booting super slow because of all the nVidia drivers. Now it is quite fast in addition to the problem being solved! Thanks!

According to Sidney Sissaoui (shideneyu@gmail.com), getlibs could be found here

That link for getting getlibs no longer works :( Even the official site of getlibs is down. This is a really bad news, because nothing else seems to fix it. Ubuntu 12.10 x64 did not complain when I softlinked, but it did not fix the problem.

I tried updating Rosetta Stone 4.1.10 to 4.1.15 manually using an update patch, and the I got the same error before and after upgrading wine1.4 to wine1.5. It did not really seem to fix anything. Do I have to completely delete the existing wineprefix and create a new one completely?

comment Problems installing TeX Live 2012 on 12.04
the rm and dpkg --purge are unnecessary if you do sudo apt-get remove --purge texlive* in the first place. So all that is needed are: 1. sudo apt-get remove --purge texlive*, 2. sudo apt-get autoremove and 3. sudo apt-get install texlive-full.

comment How do I install the latest TeX Live 2012?
This is because the package names are not complete overlaps. If you installed the complete texlive from the Canonical repos as sudo apt-get install texlive-full, then doing an upgrade will not touch it, because that is not how it is called in the texlive backports PPA.
