Hello, world!

I enjoy using my experience to help others. That is why I am active at a number of other sites in the StackExchange network on topics that interest me.

valuable flair!

I'm something of a Swiss army knife both professionally and in private, able to juggle a wild variety of things at once. I've worked in every kind of business that uses software. I'm also very good with tools, both IT and mechanic. Whether you need software design or assembling some IKEA furniture, I'm your man for the job. I'm generally soft-spoken but driven by clear principles.

I'm a twin, I've lived in five countries, I speak four languages fluently and two more embarrassingly. Also, being a father routinely develops my patience which is useful for moderating on StackExchange too.

To learn more about me, see my Google+ profile.

Yes! This is a good alternative. It costs 50$ but then my MS Money also cost money so that's no negative argument. And it DOES import OFC files and does so CORRECTLY!!

But my bank doesn't offer QIF. It only offers OFC. Hence my request for OFC-compatible alternatives...

I didn't rename the question, someone else did. And I'm going to roll-back that change because I disagree with it: My focus is not exclusively on the OFC format but on the replacement for MS Money.

You're right, Scrooge doesn't read OFC. It's too much hassle for me to download the file, then import it in one app, then export it, then import it in another app -- this would be too much of a hurdle for me to do regular money management... also, it doesn't meet the WIF (wife-acceptance-factor) so I'd have to do it myself every time. Thanks though.

I really did mean OFC format, not OFX. I am not the one deciding what format my bank offers -- I'm glad they offer download at all! (My old bank didn't.) HomeBank doesn't read OFC.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm totally new to Linux, so I'm not sure how to do that. Looking into it...

I'm really running out of options here... I dearly hope a solution will present itself. It would be catastrophic to not be able to suspend, or even shutdown! (Meaning back to Windows installation again, which I'd really hate to do.)
