Birthplace Alexandria VA. Grew up in Richmond VA. Made my carrer as a technician for the Associated Press, started out rebuilding smashed Teletypes, ended up working on computers. Retired April 2006. Bought parts, built the computer I'm using now. Nice adventure, you get to put exactly what you want in it, and see how well it works. Mine works great. Been using Linux probably for 8-10 years now, beats the stuffing out of Windows. Only gripe-it's hard finding peripherals that will work well with Linux, and some Klutz sites [webinars for example] insist on using communications protocols that only work with Windows. Wish such people would learn Windows isn't the only game in town.

How do I import email, settings etc. from 10.10 for Thunderbird in 12.04? @beanaroo-Problem is, if I move the whole .Thunderbird folder over, then I'm running the old version of Thunderbird, which is outdated and no longer supported. In comparing the old .Thunderbird with the new, the two seem to have an entirely different structure, and I'm not even sure if the new will even accept or be able to use the settings and file formats of the old version 3.1.20. When I try to import it offers me no place to import from, and clicking the [Next] button does nothing. Do you know anything about this? |
