comment Why there are 2 directories having same content?
nitpick: directories hold files (including programs), not commands. Commands are the strings that you give to shell, which in turn runs the appropriate programs or builtin functions.

comment How to change command-line keyboard shortcuts?
FYI you aren't changing "command line" shortcuts but the terminal emulator's shortcuts.

comment Colorize hardlinks in ls output?
Isn't finding hardlinks a very expensive operation? Do some filesystems provide a reverse lookup or at least a count for links per inode?

comment Why does Python in Linux require the line #!/usr/bin/python?
@kos: The problem could be in how env receives the rest of the arguments from kernel. They could all be presumed to be one large argument with no splitting-by-space performed. Sorry for articulation, I don't remember the details of this that well anymore

comment Why does Python in Linux require the line #!/usr/bin/python?
@kos: I think you can specify exactly one extra argument, which has been a PITA when one (should) use /usr/bin/env python to get the correct python.

comment Shell script If syntax error
$() doesn't split on space in any case, there's no need to encase it in spaces. In this case. If the output could be empty, then there's need for ""

comment Is there any command in Linux which does not make a system call?
nitpick: true and false are programs, not commands.

comment Getting the default text editor used in system
nitpick: Only ed of the mentioned editors is truly a command-line editor. Others are more interactive and don't actually operate on a command line at all. Complement of a GUI app is TUI, or terminal application. CLI apps is a smaller subset of terminal apps.

comment How to prompt users with a GUI dialog box to choose file/directory path, via the command-line?
Please remember to add warning about usage of GUI windows. Unnecessary windows popping up can induce rage on advanced users.

comment How to prompt users with a GUI dialog box to choose file/directory path, via the command-line?
The commonly used line between GUIs and TUIs (textual UI) is the size of the "atom": is it a pixel or a character?

comment CDIR= $(pwd) gives “Permission denied”
Quoting doesn't harm, but $() already returns a single token, ie. no quoting is necessary.

comment How to efficiently switch between several terminal windows using the keyboard?
Perhaps better to talk about Ubuntu alone because xterm doesn't do tabs. And that counts a lot.

comment How to reset administrative password without the use of a “p” key.
This is a windowsism. Nothing wrong with the answer but doesn't work on linux as is and is just worth a mention.

comment Create alias with paramater in the middle
+1. Functions are the more generalized aliases suitable for this. And just to make the message clear: you don't have to create an alias; the function name will work fine in the command line.
