comment Dropbox error - 'echo 100000 | sudo tee / proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_watches'
That's odd. Using the sysctl -w method causes Dropbox to prompt me again every time I reboot. Only adding the line to /etc/sysctl.conf fixed it permanently for me. I'm using Debian Jessie.

comment Wine sound is played way too fast and crackles horribly
The issue returned. I tried pulseaudio -k and all sound disappeared. The sound slider on Ubuntu is grayed out and there are no sound devices in the sound options. Had to reboot to get sound back.

I got up this morning and was unable to recreate the issue. Sounds play perfectly now. The only thing I have done since yesterday is switch the sound output from my headset to HDMI. Today I switched back and the crackling is gone. It will probably happen again soon though, I'll try to kill pulseaudio then.

@ThomasW. Should I delete this question then? I'm confused, and all caps aren't helping :)

I'm not sure if your suggestion worked. It now asks me "Keep the following packages at their current version: 1) overlay-scrollbar-gtk2:i386 [Not Installed] (yes/no)". I'll report the bug.

So is this a bug in overlay-scrollbar-gtk2 or overlay-scrollbar?

@ThomasW. I thought I had deleted that question, which I have now. I thought I was asking too much in one question so I decided to split it up.

comment How do I install overlay-scrollbar-gtk2:i386 on Ubuntu 13.10 64-bit?
@ThomasW. I already have. As I said, overlay-scrollbar:i386 doesn't exist in the sources. It only has an "all" install candidate which should work on all architectures, but it isn't accepted as a dependency for overlay-scrollbar-gtk2:i386

E: Package 'overlay-scrollbar:i386' has no installation candidate. Also, there is no aptitude command.
